Should I Join this Church Plant?

Church planting is hard work! So, we are praying for gospel co-workers who have a sense of calling to this difficult, yet rewarding task. Here are few introductory questions to help you decipher whether God wants you on a church planting team.

  1. Burdened. Do you recognize the need for planting more healthy churches on the island of Guam, and do you desire to be a part of the planting process?

  2. Right Stage of Life. Are you in a place (or stage of life) to sacrificially give of yourself to this endeavor (e.g., your time, talents, spiritual gifts, abilities, and resources)?

  3. Committed. Are you committed to working in an environment where our place of ministering/worship may be temporary (until we find a permanent home)?

  4. Willing to Practice Deference. Are you willing to lay aside personal preferences for the sake of gospel advancement in a cross-cultural, cross-generational, and multi-socioeconomic setting?

  5. Passionate about Disciple-Making. Do you desire to be discipled and be a disciple-maker? (This involves both evangelism and discipleship).

  6. Bought-In. Are you in agreement with the mission, vision, and doctrine of Gospel Life?

Again, these are introductory questions. God may or may not be calling you to church plant (and that’s okay!). God calls his people at different times and different seasons to do his kingdom work in a number of ways to advance the gospel.

If you found yourself resonating with many (or all) of these questions and are still interested in joining our church plant team, please contact us, so we take this discussion further offline and prayerfully seek what the Lord’s will is for you (and your family).
